Update: I finally joined a “real” clan!

Well, it took a year, but I finally left the www.kingsfans.com clan (sorry Chapu!; www.kingsfans.com is a great website, but a low level clan) and joined a real clan, Hardcore Nation (HCN).  I will likely stay out of the basement until I have enough time to figure out the lay of the clan, but I am excited about the extra help, discussion, and other goodies!  Click here to find out more and become a member, if you meet the requirements (which are not too tough if you play mainly hardcore)

Update: On to Turtle Tamer!

So I finished the game as a Disco Bandit (kept Advanced Cocktailcrafting) and now I have ascended to become a Tutle Tamer in a muscle sign.  During the inbetween, I bought a Jack in the Box familiar on kBay (will review later) and a Cotton Candy Carnie familiar (see review) to add to my menagerie.  My Turtle Tamer goals are:

- hardcore perm Amphibian Sympathy

 - get the third elemental gravy fairy familiar (cold)

- get the sleazy gravy fairy familiar (missed it by one day in my last run, go figure)

-get the ninja pirate robot zombie familiar (already bought the head, I just need a chest of the bonerdragon)

-start saving my meat as the I have purchased all of the sub $5,000,000 meat familiars from the mall… could be a while before I get another familiar after this run.  Unless you wanted to send me one… yeah right!

-review at least the Jack in the Box, Cotton Candy Carnie and one other familiar.

So here we go, should take two weeks to knock out this run now that I have the big three crafting skills (Pastamastery, Advanced Saucecrafting, Advanced Cocktailcrafting).

Update: Defeated NS… waiting through Crimbo to ascend

So I made it through the NS quest in record time (for me) using the Pastamancer.  Now I will wait until after Crimbo to ascend (I am going Disco Bandit to get the Advanced Cocktailcrafting skill next). I intend on collecting three new familiars between now and then as well and sell some more stuff at the mall.

My ultimate or best Mysticality outfit for my Pastamancer was as follows:

Hat: Colander of Em-er’il

Shirt: White hat hacker t-shirt

Weapon: Greek Pasta of Peril

Off hand item: Kickback Cookbook

Pants: Bullet-Proof Corduroys

Accesories: Pirate Fledges, chintzy noodle ring, green clover of justice (a war medal)

Familiar: Magic Dragonfish

With the Magic Dragonfish, my spell levels were high enough not to need a Cheffstaff… next time I will use both a chefstaff and the Magic Dragonfish to really be killing that NS in a hurry.

Update: Naughty Sorceress Quest: Thoroughly Loathed

Okay, I have run the NS quest a ton of times, but this time just was terrible.  In the three gates, I needed three items I did not have one of them being a Dungeons of Doom potion (where you end up trying 10 of them to get the right effect), one easy one, and Gremlin Juice. GREMLIN JUICE! Not only is the Junkyard a tough place to visit post war, but they do not drop Gremlin Juice very often. I had to run it about 30 times to get Gremlin Juice.  Then, on the tower, I needed a Pygmy Blowgun, which also took about 30 adventures to pick up! I loathe these parts of this quest… and don’t even get me started on the keys…

Update: The Crimbo Season

The Crimbo Season is upon us and I am about 5 days away from defeating the Naughty Sorceress… however, I want to make sure I have a fully leveled-up character for any Crimbo giveaways or adventures and for the Don Penguin stuff so I will delay ascending until after the 25th of December (Crimbo). I would hate to miss a reward (I hope I get a new familiar!)! Plus, this way, I can get a couple more trophies like the 250 Pound load and the 1,000,000 meat trophy.

Hardcore Update: Round 2: Pastamancer

Okay, so I ascended as a Sauceror and kept the Advanced Sauce skill as a Hardcore Perm.   I have now seen that the Pastamancer or the DIsco Bandit should be your first Hardcore run as they have the most useful adventure adding skills (Pastamastery and Advanced Cocktailcrafting).  I opted for Pastamancer as I already have the Sauce skill to go with it.  Once complete, I will go with Disco Bandit then Turtle Tamer.  Then I will re-evaluate my future runs.
